The River running through Hoi An, Vietnam

Hoi An  If you’re planning a trip to Vietnam, and you don’t have much time to explore everywhere, i beg you to visit Hoi An! It is by far the best place i have been too in Vietnam and probably up there as one of my all time favourite places to visit.   Everything about Hoi An is beautiful, the people, the buildings and the atmosphere all work together to make it an unforgettable experience. We went Vietnam in May 2015, and despite the heat wave at the time (45 degrees!) we didn’t want to leave!  We were going from Ho Chi Minh…

Passenger

Such an amazing Thursday night in Sydney.  I had been waiting for this night for so long, i finally got to see Passenger once again! Without a doubt one of my favourite songwriters.  We went to see him in Newtown at the Enmore Theatre, which is a lovely intimate venue.  We made a lovely little night of it by heading over straight after work, having an delicious tea at Bangkok Bites and then had a few drinks around some cool little bars before heading over to the theatre. Passenger was absolutely amazing, this is the second time i have seen him and…

5 tips you need to know to make the airport bearable

Its safe it say we ran into a few ‘stresses’ whilst travelling, here are the top 5 tips we learnt (sometimes the hard way) to make an airport visit as bearable as possible. Divide and Conquer! Whether your going on a long or short flight, luggage can easily go missing, being the last one standing at the luggage belt is never a good look.  But this tip might take some of the stress away whilst your waiting to be reunited.  When packing, only pack half of your items into your suitcase and give the other half to whoever you are travelling with.…

Taking Pictures in Surry Hills, Sydney

I think everybody can agree that Sundays are the best! Saturdays are a little more up and go, but Sundays, it is the one day you can wake up and not feel guilty for lazing around. Laying in bed, dropping croissant crumbs everywhere whilst sipping on hot coffee is my idea of a perfect Sunday morning in Sydney. I just love Sundays in Sydney, weather you lay on the sofa all day, head down to the beach, or just stay around the city, there’s always something to occupy a perfect day. This Sunday just gone, we spent the day on…

Hunter Valley weekend away

Hey! So this weekend i got to celebrate my 25th birthday in the Hunter Valley! It was a lovely surprise, thanks to James. It was a perfect weekend getaway, i think it was something that was much needed after the hustle and bustle of being back in England for Christmas.  We stayed in a lovely little quiet cottage that was snuggled between two Vineyards and spent the weekend walking, wine tasting and eating lots of food.  We went to a gorgeous little restaurant on my birthday called Bistro Molines, it was just like being in the South of France.  Looking over…

Ok, so there are lots of inspirational quotes out there, one of my favourite as a traveler is to ‘Enjoy the Journey’.  Yes travelling on a cramped sleeper bus through Cambodia is amazing, and all travelers ‘Enjoy Any Journey’, however when I found myself sat in Business class with a class of Moet, let’s just say I didn’t complain! On the 7th of December 2015 I took a very early morning Emirates flight (6am) from Sydney to Manchester, England.  After 8 months of being away from home, I was so excited and couldn’t wait to get the long 25 hour journey…

We have had an amazing time in Cambodia, our first stop was Sihanoukville, the centre of Sihanoukville is more for the partying backpacker, however after just coming from Khao San Road, we wanted to take advantage of being right next to the coast and stay by the beach, we chose the nearby ‘Otres Beach’. It was absolutely beautiful! A long stretch of soft, pale sand filled with bungalows, guest houses, bars and restaurants. We stayed at ‘Everythang’ hostels right on the beach, in a little bungalow, it came with a fan and mosquito net, because of the coastal breeze, the fan…

Getting from Thailand to Cambodia We ended up paying around $27 for our bus down to shunaukville. This included the pickup from the hotel, the 5/6 hour bus ride down to the border, a hotel (prepare for it to be naff) and a coach picking us up the next day to continue the 2/3 hours from the border the shunaukville. Getting ripped off at the border! If your not aware of this already, you will definitely get ripped off at the Thai/Cambodian border. We had been warned about this, but travellers had just told us to be careful and be…

Exactly like The Hangover! We had three nights in Bangkok. We decided to act like the backpackers that we are and stay on Khao San Road, this is one of the main streets in Bangkok. We stepped out of our taxi at 1am to absolute madness. Within seconds I was surrounded, street venders shouting and selling whatever they could; clothes, beer…..scorpions! We checked our bags in and decided to go back outside and find our bearings. Our first night was spent, mouths wide open in amazement at all that was going on. We bought our 50 pence beers, sat on…
